Miami Heat vs Boston Celtics Game 7 Prediction

This has been a great series so far, and it looked like the series would end on Friday night. The Heat went into Boston for game six short-handed and pulled off a massive upset as nine-point underdogs. Jimmy Butler led the Heat to the win having a forty-plus point effort despite a bad knee.

These teams have both been tested in this series with injuries as the Celtics have missed starting center Robert Williams for multiple games along with defensive player of the year Marcus Smart at times. The Heat have been without the sixth man of the year Tyler Herro for the last few games of this series, and star Jimmy Butler is dealing with a knee injury. The bottom line Is these teams are each dealing with injuries and are not near one hundred percent.

The Celtics enter tonight as a 2.5-point road favorite. This could be one of the best games of the season and is certainly the most anticipated to this point in the season. The Celtics have struggled to get over the hump the last few seasons in the big game so tonight will be a chance to get over the hump for Boston. 

I am backing the Celtics tonight. They have responded better than any team in the playoffs to a loss, especially a bad one, so I expect them to follow that script tonight. I still think this team wins an NBA championship due to their outstanding defense and timely three-point shooting.

The Heat are extremely banged up at the moment, and I am not sure that Jimmy Butler will be able to run back a performance like Friday. If Butler struggles at all, this team becomes lost. They do not have a ton of scoring outside of Butler, and that could catch up to them tonight.

I also expect the plan from Boston to be much more focused on Butler and force the Heats role players to beat them. The final point I will make is the line, the Heat are the number one seed and at home, yet Boston is -2.5. I think the line read and the eye test says Boston tonight. Let’s close out a great series well.
