Golden State Warriors vs. Boston Celtics Game 1 Prediction

The NBA Finals are finally here, and what a battle we have for you all tonight. The Boston Celtics vs. the Golden State Warriors will take place from the Chase Center tonight. These two teams have been outstanding all season long, and now here we are.

The Celtics certainly had the more difficult path of the two, but the bottom line is they are both here now, and the series is 0-0. In the first round, the Celtics breezed past NBA Champion favorites, the Brooklyn Nets, followed up by knocking off the defending champion Milwaukee Bucks in round two. Things did not get easier in round three as the Celtics went toe to toe with the number one seed in the east, the Miami Heat. The Celtics were able to fend off a late run by the Heat and win game seven.

The Warriors made easy work of the Dallas Mavericks to get to the championship. The Mavs were beaten in five games by this experienced Warriors team. The Warriors are the more rested team between the two, and they certainly could use it with a mostly veteran roster. The Celtics come into this game as the more inexperienced team but don’t let that fool you. The star duo of Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown is one of the best in all of the NBA, and this team has shown that they are not afraid of the moment. The other thing that this team has shown is their ability to win on the road. They won three of their four games last series in Miami. 

I am backing the Warriors tonight on the moneyline in a game I expect to come down to the wire. I typically would not mind laying the points, but I see a lower scoring game tonight that could be a grinder.

The Warriors crowd should be electric tonight, and with all due respect to Miami and their fans, this is a much more difficult place to play. The Warriors have also been in this moment multiple times, so I do not expect any nerves out of them. The Celtics, on the other side, may have some nerves early, giving the Warriors a chance to take advantage early. If the Warriors can establish their run and gun offense, they should take care of business tonight. I think this series will be one for the ages but give me the Dubs tonight.
