2022-23 NBA Prediction: Can Additions Jaden Ivey and Bojan Bogdanovic Help Cade Cunningham, Pistons?

I found another NBA future that I love, and I want us to lock this in now. This future I will be looking at will be surrounded around the Detriot Pistons. The Pistons are a young team that is looking to take the league by storm. They are led by Cade Cunningham, who had a strong rookie campaign last season. Cunningham was the Piston's top pick, and he is the guy that the organization wants to build around.

He has shown why so far in his young career. The Pistons had a tough year last season, so they were able to get some good draft picks. They snagged former Purdue Boilermaker Jaden Ivey in the first round, along with former Memphis Tiger Jalen Duren. These are two young players with a high ceiling. Detroit is extremely excited about the future led by this young core. The Pistons also have some other young guys that they are extremely high on, including Sadiq Bey and Isaiah Stewart.

The Pistons added some veterans to surround this young fore when they added Kemba Walker, Alec Burks, Nerlnes Noel, and Bojan Bogdanovic. Walker is questionable to play on the team as he will not report at the start of training camp. The bottom line here is that the Pistons have a much better roster than they have had in the last few seasons. Despite their roster looking better, their odds for the postseason sit at +850. So the books are not all that high on this young Pistons squad. I am, however. 

We will be taking the Pistons to make the playoffs at +850. Let’s break this play down a little.

The Piston's roster got much better in the off-season. They were able to add two young stars who I think will make an immediate impact in the NBA in Ivey and Duren. Pair them with Cunningham Bey and Stewart, and you have an outstanding young core.

Now, we all know it can be tough for young teams to make the playoffs, but I really liked the veterans that they added. Kemba Walker, Nerlens Noel, Alec Burks, and Bojan Bogdanovic bring a ton of experience to this Pistons roster. They should be able to help these young guys out on and off the court. I also think that the Pistons have one of the best coaches in the game in Dwayne Casey. Lastly, we have to remember that the NBA expanded their playoff format and all we need here to have a chance is the Pistons to make the play-in tournament. I trust that they can be a top ten team in the East and pull off some upsets.
