NBA Player Prop Picks for Tuesday: LeBron James, Jayson Tatum, and More

The NBA is officially starting back up tonight! We've got two games on the horizon. Both games will be on national television on TNT. The two games both have intriguing matchups.

The Philadelphia 76ers will travel to Boston to start the season to take on the defending Eastern Champions in an exciting rivalry matchup. After that, we'll get the Golden State Warriors, the defending champions, against the Los Angeles Lakers.

Anthony Davis and LeBron James are healthy and ready to go, giving the Lakers a real chance in the West this season.

As a disclaimer, I'm an analytics guy. I love using numbers that can help with placing bets. Because it's the first day of the season, we don't have numbers to go off of. In the first couple of days, I'm going to make picks based on assumptions. But after we get any kind of sample size, we'll be able to introduce numbers to back up each bet.

Here are three prop bets to consider for tonight's two-game NBA slate.

Best NBA Player Props for Tuesday, October 18

LeBron James Over 3.5 Turnovers (+140) (Bet $100 to collect $140)

LeBron James has averaged 3.5 turnovers per game throughout his entire career. With this bet, we're getting +140 odds on something he's done 50% of the time. I assume that with Russell Westbrook on the bench and playing with the second team, James will have the ball on offense a lot in his hands. Patrick Beverley isn't your typical point guard, and Austin Reeves won't be that guy, either. I think James is at his best as the primary ball-handler. That's when he's able to get everyone involved. But because of all that volume, there's a good chance that James turns the ball over four times. It's the first game of the season. There's going to be some rust. Not everyone will be on the same page 100 percent of the time. Take his Over 3.5 on turnovers.

Draymond Green Under 6.5 Points (+105) (Bet $105 to collect $100)

I'm just not expecting much out of Draymond Green tonight. I'm sure he's apologized, and all is well now. But Green will probably hesitate to do much once they get on the court. He's likely not very conditioned and won't play many minutes. Maybe he'll get 20 or 25 minutes at max. There's a good chance he doesn't take two shots in this game. Nobody will pass him the ball, and we know how much Green likes to assist others. I'll take this plus money chance with Green's under on his points prop.

Jayson Tatum Under 30.5 Points + Rebounds (+130) (Bet $130 to collect $100)

Tatum will likely have to work around P.J. Tucker in tonight's game. Tucker is a defensive ace who helped bring an NBA Championship to Milwaukee in 2021. He does the little things that others don't like to do. The 76ers should ultimately be one of the better defensive teams in the league. The Celtics will be without Robert Williams. In the postseason, Williams is on the floor opened everything up for the rest of the team. Instead, they'll have Derrick White getting the start instead. He will look for his shot a lot of the time. I'm not very high on Jayson Tatum starting off the season at a high rate. Take his under at +130.
