The first night of the 2022-23 NBA season was last night but tonight is the first night the NBA is "back-back". Like really back. There are close to 100 games on the docket tonight (12) so we've got plenty of action to choose from. What I like to do in a situation like this is to hit the books with a three-pronged attack. The first prong is the 7:00 pm ET slot, the second is the 8-9:00 pm ET slot and the final prong is anything 10:00 pm ET or later. By doing it this way we get action all night which is the key to any day that we are walking free on this planet. It's worked for me this long and if we're being honest, it will work well after I'm gone. Here is how we are attacking the 7:00 pm ET slate.

We're at FanDuel for this one since they let us ladder. I love to ladder. Especially in basketball. It's so much fun. If you can't play at FanDuel, take a deep breath and relax. It's fine. You can just go over to DraftKings and grab the 2.5 (-130) they are handing out. Obviously, you're paying -130 but you are also going to cash with no problems whatsoever ever. At the end of the day, that's fun too. It's not as fun as a +168 banger, but it's still fun.

Let me tell you a little bit about basketball and how to bet it. Find ascending players and let them take you to the moon. That's it. That's how you do it. One such player is Franz Wagner. You may remember him from his days at Michigan where he wrecked people every single day he was on campus. Nowadays you can find the 21-year-old in Orlando embarrassing everyone that comes near him on the basketball court.

The thing with this kid is he spent last year playing for a Magic team that was just young. They're a very athletic group that just needs a little experience together. That's all. And now that they are all a year older (that's how time works), I think it's time for them to start their ascent. If they do, I think it means more play-making opportunities for Wagner. The guy ended the season averaging 5.6 potential assists per game which isn't bad. This year, I bet he ends with more.

You'd have to be an idiot to think preseason stats matter unless they corroborate your opinion. Then they actually mean everything. This preseason, it was pretty obvious that Wagner is expected to be a playmaker this season. In every game he played, he went over three assists. In two of them, he went 5+ and 7+. With the Magic's backcourt situation being what it is, very thin, I bet Wagner keeps getting minutes there. He should fly over this number tonight and make us look like the kings (and queens) we really are.
