Brooklyn Nets vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction

The Toronto Raptors and the Brooklyn Nets will battle things out tonight from the Barclays Center for this Eastern Conference affair. The Raptors enter this one fresh off a hard-fought win over the Cleveland Cavaliers. The Nets, meanwhile, enter this game coming off an embarrassing loss at home to the Pelicans.

Brooklyn was completely dominated in the game from the tip. The only Nets player who came to play was Kevin Durant, who did everything he could to keep them competitive, but due to his lack of help, the game got away from the Nets in the third quarter. The criticism of Ben Simmons and Kyrie Irving has already begun, as the two were awful in the team's first game. They will need to do to step up tonight and moving forward this season.

The Raptors, meanwhile, come into this season seen as a team that should make the playoffs. This is a very talented team that has a lot of experience playing together. Toronto made the playoffs a season ago, but they were bounced in the first round when they lost to the Philadelphia 76ers. Brooklyn comes into this game as a two-point favorite tonight. 

I am backing the Nets on the moneyline here. They just got embarrassed, and I fully expect them to come back tonight and play with a much better effort. Listen, on paper, this may be the best team in the NBA. They have no reason to lose these kinds of games at home. The only reason I see them losing this game tonight is effort, but I would be surprised if they came out lifeless due to being embarrassed on Wednesday night. If Brooklyn can control the pace and turn this into a track meet, they will win, as Toronto does not want to play that style of game.
