Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors Pick

Pick: James Wiseman Over 10.5 Points: +146 (Bet $100 to collect $246) -- FanDuel has the best odds; click here to bet

This is a FanDuel exclusive. Why? Because DraftKings doesn't want the smoke that is James Wiseman. That's the only thing I can come up with. He's not even listed on their site. Like he's not even on the team or something. They're literally letting us bet on a guy named Jock Landale (sounds like a made-up name) but won't let us throw a few greenbacks on James Wiseman. Whatever.

Phoenix Suns vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction

So we tried to get paid on Wiseman in the first game of the season, and he came up one bucket short. We needed 10, he only got us eight. The kid missed four free throws that night too, which hurt pretty bad. I think he was just nervous but who really knows what was going on? All I know is it would have been much cooler if he would have dropped 10 that night.

In two games since, Wiseman has been pretty "bout it". He's gone 11+ in both games, including a 14-point outburst in the last one against the Sacramento Kings. He's not taking a ton of shots but he's taking ones that are close to the rim so they are at least a high percentage. Think Mitchell Robinson except with the ability to hit free throws. I know he missed four on opening night but he's 7-9 since then.

Tonight he'll get the Phoenix Suns, who are pretty good defensively. In fact, only five teams have been better in the defensive efficiency metric this season. The thing is, I don't think it will matter much with the way Wiseman cuts at the basket and grabs lobs and such. We haven't really seen a big like Wiseman off the bench against the Suns yet, so it's tough to know what to expect. Christian Wood hung 25 off the bench on Phoenix, but he's a different type of player. Still, I feel like +146 for 11 points from a guy like Wiseman is a must-bet. Feels right.
