The Wizards enter this game with a record of 2-1 on the young season, while Detroit comes in 1-2 overall, losing their last two games. These are two teams who are not expected to make much noise out of the eastern conference this season. Washington has struggled to find success over the last few years, but one bright spot has been the play of Bradley Beal.

Beal has been great to kick off the season and is one of the best shooting guards in the game. Washington is a team that has had some really successful regular seasons over the last decade. They have not finished above the .500 mark, however, since 2017. They were a playoff team from 2013-2017 when John Wall was at his peak.

They simply have not been able to find the right answers since then. This included an era with Russell Westbrook, which did not work out. They now will look to build around Bradley Beal, who recently signed a contract to remain a part of this Wizards team. Similarly to the Wizards, success has been hard to come by for the Pistons over the last few seasons.

Detroit has not had a winning season since 2015. The Pistons have just made the playoff two times since 2008, and they are looking to flip the script on that narrative this season. The books do not think that will happen as Detroit was +800 pre-season to make the playoffs. This is a young team that has a ton of talent.

The question will be, can they put this talent together and form a team? Building around Jaden Ivey and Cade Cunningham is certainly a great start. Dwane Casey is the man in charge of this team, and Casey has shown below great of a coach he is during his NBA career. This is a guy who won coach of the year in Toronto. The Pistons come into play tonight as a six-point road dog.

I am all over Detroit here. This is a combination of two things. The first thing is I believe that the Pistons are better than they are being given credit for, and the second thing is I do not think this Wizards team should be laying this many points to anyone at the moment. They're 2-1, but this is still a below-average basketball team. They also are one of the worst defensive teams in the NBA, in my eyes which makes covering sizeable spreads difficult. I think Detriot keeps pace tonight and could possibly pull off the upset. Let’s stay hot!
