Oklahoma City Thunder vs. Orlando Magic Prediction
These are two teams that are not slated to be playoff teams and have been in the process of rebuilding their rosters. The Magic had the number one overall pick in last year's draft, and to the surprise of some, they selected Duke forward Paolo Banchero. Paolo at the time, was a bit of a controversial pick, as many thought the number one pick would be Jabari Smith or Chet Holmgren.
It is early, but Banchero looks like the right choice so far. Paolo is averaging 22.7 points per game through their first seven games. His stellar play has him as a heavy favorite to win rookie of the year, sitting as high as -145 at some books. Despite the stellar play by Banchero, the Magic are just 1-6 on the year.
Oklahoma City, similarly to the Magic, really struggled last year and ended up with the number two overall pick. Gonzaga standout Chet Holmgren fell into the laps of the Thunder, and they selected him with the second overall pick.
Unfortunately for the Thunder, Holmgren sustained an injury in the pre-season and will miss the entire season. Despite the Holmgren injury, the Thunder have been playing solid basketball this season, representing a 3-3 record on the year. This is a team that has also missed star guard Josh Giddey in the last few games. Giddey is questionable for tonight’s game.Â

I will be backing the Thunder on the money line tonight. I think that this is a good spot for OKC, who is playing some great basketball at the moment. To put this simply, Orlando is just a bad team at the moment. They are dealing with some injuries, but for the most part, this is their team.
If the Thunder can limit the production of Banchero, I think that they can run away with this game. Shai Gilgeous-Alexander has been dominant so far this season, and I think he will lead OKC to a win tonight. We have cashed fifteen of our last sixteen NBA bets. Let’s keep it rolling!Â
