The Raptors have gotten off to a solid start entering this game with a record of 5-3 on the young season. This is a talented Toronto team that has a lot of good players. They do not have one superstar, but they have great balance, typically have one of the league's best defenses, and are extremely well-coached. This team won an NBA Championship just a few seasons ago and would love to add some hardware this season, although it seems like a long shot.

On the flip side, the Mavs come into play with a similar record of 4-3. Dallas shocked the league last season when they advanced to the Western Conference finals after knocking off the top team in the West, the Phoenix Suns. The reason for the Mavs success is number seventy-seven, the Slovenian-born superstar Luka Donic. Doncic is one of the best players the league has seen in the last couple of decades. He has single-handedly turned around this Mavs team and turned them into a contender. Doncic does a little bit of everything and can make an average player look like a superstar. He has been on a tear in the young season, currently averaging 36.1 points per game while shooting over 51 percent from the field. Toronto knows that they will have their hands full with Doncic tonight. Dallas comes into play as a three-point favorite.
