Lakers vs. Nets Prediction
These are two teams that really underachieved a season ago. The Nets were the favorites to come out of the East and did not win a playoff game, while the Lakers were the pre-season favorites out of the West and did not even make the playoffs. Both teams will be looking to bounce back this season with a strong performance.
Brooklyn is considered a favorite out of the East again, but they have had trouble getting their entire team on the court so far this season. Ben Simmons has been dealing with injuries early in the year, and Kyrie Irving has missed games due to his suspension. Brooklyn also fired their head coach Steve Nash then hired Ime Udokah just to announce later that they would not hire Udokah. Unfortunately, the headlines for the Nets have been off the court, not on.
Meanwhile, things have not gone well in LA as they come into this game with the second-worst record in the NBA at 2-10. LeBron James has done everything that he can, but there has been little to no support around him this year. The Lakers will look to bounce back with a big-time win tonight.
I am backing the Lakers here at home. I know we do not love to bet on the Lakers, but this is a pretty good spot for them tonight. I have not been impressed with the Nets, and I think their inability to defend will catch up to them tonight. I trust that the Lakers can score enough points to stay within the number tonight and get us a cover. Let’s close the week with a bang!
