There are a lot of reasons to like this one, where do I begin? Whenever you take a Jaylen Brown points prop it comes with the worry that Jayson Tatum will get hot and they will feed the hot hand. Although I can’t promise Sacramento will shut him down, it’s a good sign that they allow the third-fewest points to the PF position and actually allow the fourth-most to the SF position where Jaylen plays.
Boston Celtics vs. Sacramento Kings Prediction
Jaylen Brown is averaging 7.4 1Q points on the season and has hit in 9/17 games. That hit rate is barely above .500 but this is an ideal matchup. This a paced-up game with a 237.5 total. The Celtics are projected to score 31 points in the first quarter and if that’s the case I like our odds of Brown getting seven here. Boston plays better in front of their home crowd as they are 7-1 and average more points at home than away.
Although it wasn’t entirely the same roster, it’s good to see that last year Brown scored 16 and 13 first-quarter points against Sacramento. With this just being a first-quarter bet, we don’t have to worry about the blowout, and the only things that could ruin us are foul trouble or if his shot isn’t falling. The game having a -7.5 spread in favor of Boston makes me think we possibly could see starters rest at the end of this one so we will go the first-quarter route where Brown has been balling this year.
