I have not bet on Banchero once this year which is probably my biggest mistake of the season thus far. Banchero is on his way to winning rookie of the year and even this number feels low for him. He has hit this prop in 9/14 games with one miss being against this same Hawks team where he ended with 20 points. In that game, he scored 20 points and only shot 33% from the floor (6-18), so I would imagine some positive regression.
In the offseason, we saw a mini-feud between Banchero and Murray, so I expect there to be some slight motivation from both ends to deliver tonight. Banchero will be the beneficiary of not having Carter for the Magic, so I expect 35+ minutes, assuming this one remains competitive. Banchero is home tonight where he averages nearly 24 points a night and has a 5/7 hit rate.
Atlanta allows the eighth most points to PFs and Orlando will heavily rely on their top pick tonight to keep the game tight. Banchero has a ladder upside tonight of 25+ and 30+, but we will play it safe and just hope for 21. I also obviously like betting the 20+ as it has a 10/14 hit rate, but the juice is -140, and I would rather save 30 cents on the dollar only needing one additional point. Let's hope our Banchero debut is a good one and let's roll!
