Los Angeles Clippers vs. Denver Nuggets Prediction
The Nuggets come into this game as the best team in the West, representing a record of 24-13. The Nuggets are led by two-time MVP Nikola Jokic. Jokic is making a case yet again this year to be the league's MVP for three straight seasons. Jokic has proven himself to be one of the best players in basketball and he is finally getting some help this season. Jamal Murray has been healthy this year, which has taken some pressure off of Jokic. Michael Porter Jr. is another key piece of this team, and he continues to get healthier as the season goes along.
The Clippers enter play as the No. 6 seed at the moment. They represent a record of 21-18 and come into play losing three games in a row. Los Angeles has not won a game since beating the Pistons in overtime on December 26th. On paper, I’d argue that the Clippers have the best roster in basketball.
The issue for the Clippers has been staying healthy. It has been rare for the Clippers to play a game with their full-time. It seems like if Paul George plays, Kawhi Leonard sits or vice versa. It appears that Leonard will play tonight, but George does not look like he will go in this one. Denver comes into tonight’s game as a six-point favorite.
I am backing the dog tonight. I understand that Geoge will likely be out for tonight’s game, but I still think that the Clippers are being undervalued here as long as Kawhi Leonard suits up. Denver has been a very good home team this season, but six points are too many to give LA. The Clippers come into play well-rested, as their last game was on Monday night, and I expect them to be ready to go for this one tonight.
