For those that don’t like juice, I’m also playing Jokic 30+ / 6+ 1Q points for half a unit at +170. This at 25 feels really safe, despite him only scoring 19 in their first meeting. In the first meeting, we saw Aaron Gordon take on the bulk of the scoring because Los Angeles was without their great defenders in Kawhi and PG. Paul George may be out again tonight as he is currently questionable, but Kawhi will play and likely lock down one of those two Nuggets making Jokic forced to be more of a scorer tonight.
Jokic last year scored 49 and 30 points against Zubac. Jokic's regular prop on most books right now is 27.5 so we’re getting a 3-point discount by just adding him scoring 6+ in the 1st, which correlates. Jokic has done this in nine of his last 13 games with one miss being just short at 24. This is a TNT game and typically we see big-name players play to their best ability on these nationally televised games.
This game projects to be relatively close with just a 5-point spread and Jokic has a trend lately where every other game he scores big and this would fall in line with the trend to be the high-scoring game. Kawhi will likely limit Gordon and if Paul George plays, I like this, even more, to remain close and for PG to lock down Murray making Jokic score more.
Whether George plays or not, I still like this play though. I would actually advise that you play 30+ points for Jokic too if you can get it for +150 or better, DK seems to be the best place for that right now.
