Denver Nuggets vs New Orleans Pelicans Prediction

The Pelicans come into this game ice-cold as of late. New Orleans is just 1-9 over their last ten games, which has forced their record to 26-25 on the season. That currently has them placed as the number eight seed in the West. The Pelicans have really struggled over the last couple of weeks, and a win tonight over the top seed in the West would do wonders for them.

Some of that has to do with injuries, as they have missed stars like Brandon Ingram and Zion Williamson at times this season. Ingram is expected to go tonight but Williamson will continue to miss time. When fully healthy, New Orleans appeared to be a top-five team in the West, but the injuries are starting to catch up to this Pelicans team. They hope they can take care of business tonight and get a much-needed road win.

Denver, meanwhile, comes into this game with the best record in the west at 34-16. They have lost two games in a row, including a tough loss on the road versus the Philadelphia 76ers on Saturday afternoon. Nikola Jokic has been in MVP form yet again this season, leading the team, and the role players for Denver have been outstanding. The Nuggets believe that they have a legitimate chance to make a run at a title this year. Denver comes in a seven-point favorite tonight. 

I have rarely faded the Nuggets in Denver this year, but I have to fade them tonight. New Orleans is more than due, and despite not having Zion tonight, they are healthy otherwise. I expect the Pelicans to play with a chip on their shoulder tonight, knowing that they desperately need to win this game. New Orleans matches up pretty well across the board with the Nuggets, and I think that they can put up enough points in this game to keep it close. I will trust the Pelicans on the road to get right and get us a cover tonight. Let’s stay hot on the hardwood!
