76ers vs Cavaliers Prediction: Should You Trust Joel Embiid and the Sixers at Home?

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Philadelphia 76ers will clash from the City of Brotherly love on Wednesday night for a pivotal Eastern Conference affair. The reason that this is a significant game is for seeding purposes. The NBA season is flying by fast, and before we know it, the playoffs will be upon us.

Philadelphia 76ers vs. Cleveland Cavaliers Prediction

Philly currently enters play as the number three seed in the Eastern Conference, playing to the tune of a 37-19 record. Cleveland is right on their heels coming into this contest with a record of 38-22, which is good for fourth best in the East. Cleveland made a splash in the off-season when they added superstar guard Donovan Mitchell. Mitchell has not disappointed this season, earning himself a trip to the all-star game. Mitchell is averaging 27.2 points per game to lead the Cavs and is the main reason for the team’s success this season. Their role players have also really stepped up, making this a well-balanced Cavs team.

Philly, meanwhile, has been led by superstar center Joel Embiid. Embiid won the scoring title a season ago, and he is on his way to another this year. The big man is averaging a league-high 33.2 points per game while ripping down a team-high 10.1 rebounds per game. James Harden is quietly having one of the best years of his career, leading the league in assists with 10.8 per game. Philly feels that they can go on a run, but they have had trouble getting out of the second round of the playoffs the last few seasons.

I am all over the 76ers tonight. The reason I think that the line is -2 right now is due to the questionable status of Joel Embiid. I do expect Embiid to suit up for this game, and if he does go, I believe that this line will jump a bit. The 76ers play their best basketball at home, going 22-8 on their home floor this season, and I expect them to be fired up for this important game tonight before the all-star break. Despite the great season, Cleveland has really struggled to play away from home this year, going just 13-16 on the road. Let’s stay hot and cash in tonight.
