The Golden State Warriors and the Los Angeles Lakers will duel things out from the Crypto.com arena in Los Angeles, California on Thursday night as the NBA returns after a week off for the All-Star break.

Los Angeles Lakers vs. Golden State Warriors Prediction

Los Angeles will begin the second half of the season in 13th place in the Western Conference. They are currently two games out of the final play In tournament spot. They are 4.5 games out of the final playoff spot. Los Angeles reconstructed their roster a couple of weeks ago, and they are confident in the guys that they have moving forward. Lebron James came out this week and said that the next six weeks were the most important of his NBA regular season career.

Golden State, meanwhile, would love to heat up as well to close out the season. The defending champs have had an up-and-down year, as they are currently the number nine seed in the West. They are just one game ahead of Utah and Portland, who could jump them for a play-in spot. The Warriors will be without star Steph Curry again tonight, who continues to recover from an injury. Los Angeles comes into this game as a 5.5-point favorite. 

I am backing the Lakers on the spread tonight. Call me crazy, but I believe in this team in the second half, and I expect them to make a run into the playoffs. From a talent standpoint, this is a team that is much better than its record indicates. I also believe that Lebron James is on a mission at the moment and that he will have a different approach to these regular season games.

Golden State will be short-handed tonight as they will be without Curry, as I mentioned, but they will also be without starter Andrew Wiggins which is a big loss for the Warriors. I am going to trust the home team to get the win and cover tonight.
