Memphis Grizzlies vs. Denver Nuggets Prediction

Denver has been led by Serbian-born superstar Nikola Jokic who is looking to win his third straight MVP award. As it stands right now, Jokic is the betting favorite to win the award, and by a fairly large margin. The other reason that Denver has had a lot of success this season is due to the fact that they have been able to stay healthy. Jamal Murray and Michael Porter Jr. were injured last year, which killed any legitimate chance of the Nuggets winning anything. With the two back in the lineup this season, Denver feels as if they have a championship-level roster.

Memphis, meanwhile, has been led by Murray State alumn Ja Morant. Morant, who is a former No. 2 overall pick, has shown the league why in the last two seasons. He was not the only all-star from Memphis this year as fellow Grizzlies Jaren Jackson Jr. earned his first trip to the all-star game. Jackson Jr. is seen as one of the favorites to win defensive player of the year and has been solid on the offensive side of the floor as well. Memphis enters this game tonight as a two-point home favorite. 

I am going to take the Grizzlies on the short moneyline tonight. Memphis is coming off of a brutal loss on the road against the 76ers in a game that they led the majority of the way. I expect them to play with a chip on their shoulder tonight and get this win. Denver has not played their best basketball on the road this year, going 16-15 away compared to a 27-4 record at home. Memphis, meanwhile, has opposite splits where they have been an outstanding home team going 24-5 on their own building. I will trust the home team to get the win tonight!
