Philadelphia 76ers vs. Miami Heat Prediction

Miami comes into this game playing to the tune of a 32-29 record which is good for seventh best in the East. It has been a somewhat disappointing year for Miami as they were slated to be one of the best teams in the East entering the season. A big reason why they have had trouble finding success is the injuries that they have dealt with. Tyler Herro and Kyle Lowry have been in and out of the lineup for the majority of the season as well as some other key role players.

One of the bright spots for the Heat this year has been big man Bam Adebayo who earned himself a trip to Utah this year for the All-Star game. Bam will have his hands full tonight with the hugest scoring center in basketball Joel Embiid.

Philly enters play supporting a record of 39-20, which is good for third-best in the East. The 76ers are coming off a heartbreaking loss to the Celtics on Saturday night and they are hopeful of bouncing back with a home victory tonight. Joel Embiid is turning in an MVP-caliber year as he leads the league in scoring with 33.1 points per game. He will look to close the season strong and win his second consecutive scoring title.

This will be the first of three meetings between the two teams this season. Miami was responsible for eliminating the 76ers from the playoffs a season ago.

I am going to trust the home team and the line in this spot. I am a bit surprised that we are seeing a line this large, but when you break it down, it makes sense. Miami is not the same team as a season ago, and Philly should match up very well tonight against a small Heat lineup. Miami has one of the smallest teams in the NBA and the minutes that Bam sits will be key in this game.

I expect a massive game out of Joel Embiid tonight. James Harden and Tyrese Maxey should be able to drive into the paint with little resistance. Lastly, Philly has played their best basketball at home this year, going 24-9 in Philly compared to Miami, who is just 13-19 away from the sunshine state. Let’s stay hot and cash in tonight!
