I see the really popular plays today, and I like them all on paper, but it seems like whenever the whole public is on a play that something weird happens more times than not, and we lose. I decided to go with a play I don’t think anybody is on. This bet will make me look like a genius or an absolute bozo who overthought too much.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs Detroit Pistons Prediction

Killian Hayes can’t score. He can pass and occasionally defend well. We can’t let him hit two field goals in the first quarter here. Killian Hayes is under this number in 10 of his last 11 games. In this 11-game span, he averages just 1.6 points in the first quarter. The one kicker is the one game he hit was against Cleveland, but he played all 12 minutes of the first quarter which isn’t a common occurrence.

Despite the one outing against Cleveland, he scored four in the first quarter. He hasn’t hit the other two times against them, and Cleveland allows the fewest points to point guards. The Pistons will be without Bojan Bogdanovic, Isaiah Stewart, and Alec Burks, but despite all of that, we haven’t really seen Killian step up as a volume scorer.

This feels like a game Hamidou Diallo makes the most of his minutes, and we see James Wiseman and Marvin Bagley take multiple contested shots against the Cavaliers' bigs. Killian Hayes can have three points or less to start the game; let's roll!
