Now you could pay the normal -1.5 and get -110, but the thought of losing the bet even though Portland is up would bother me, so I’m willing to pay some juice here. This is truly a no-brainer in my eyes, one team is still playing meaningful basketball, and the other already has their eyes on the lottery and is currently sporting a seven-game losing streak.
Detroit hasn’t led after the first quarter in their past 13 games. Tonight without Bojan Bogdanovic, yet again, I don’t see them outplaying Damian Lillard and Jerami Grant, who should be the best two players on the court. This spread is surprisingly not that big, so there’s a weird chance that Vegas thinks Pistons could cover or upset Portland, but as for the first quarter, I think the Trail Blazers and Dame come out hot.
Portland has won their first quarter in five of their last six games, and Detroit should be by far their easiest opponent yet. I went with the alt spread, but I still like -1.5 if you don’t have this as an option or don’t want to pay the juice. Portland is a bad road team at 13-19, but Detroit is so unserious of a team right now that they should win this bet. Let's roll!
