Taking an under isn’t something we often do. Deandre Ayton averages over 18 points a night, so you may think this is a wild bet. Please allow me to explain before I get pelted with tomatoes.
Phoenix Suns vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Prediction
Ayton has often been a second option this option behind Devin Booker. Kevin Durant returns tonight, which should put a dent in Ayton’s workload. In three games with KD, we have seen Ayton score nine, seven, and 16 points. The game with 16 was against an ideal matchup in Charlotte, so that was a game he should dominate. Tonight won’t be the same case.
Ayton finds himself against Rudy Gobert. This season he has faced him twice and has only scored 11 and nine points. He was the second option in one game and the first option in the other; tonight, he is the third fiddle. Phoenix really needs this win and should rely on Book and KD to do the share of scoring duties.

Ayton struggles against Gobert and only averages just 10 points a game in the small sample size with Durant healthy. I was really hoping for this number at 16.5, but I still like it at 15.5 for one unit. Let's hope us taking a rare under pays off. Let's roll!
