Denver Nuggets vs. Minnesota Timberwolves Game 5 Prediction
The Nuggets have been impressive at home all season long, supporting a home record of 34-7 during the regular season and 2-0 here in the playoffs. Denver is the No. 1 seed in the West, so if they are to advance, this could be a huge advantage for them throughout the postseason.
The star of the playoffs so far has been Jamal Murray, who is averaging north of twenty-five points per game. Fellow star Nikola Jokic was terrific in game four despite the loss. The expectations are high for this Nuggets team, but in a loaded Western Conference, they know how difficult it will be to go on a championship run.
Minnesota, meanwhile, was able to get a playoff win on Sunday night. You have to give the Wolves credit for coming out and competing hard in Game 4. The Wolves blew a double-digit lead with under three minutes to play in the fourth quarter, but they were able to regroup and win the game in overtime.
The star for this Timberwolves team in the playoffs has been Anthony Edwards, who is averaging 32.3 points per game so far in this series. The Nuggets enter this game as a nine-and-a-half-point favorite tonight.
I am going to trust the road team and put my money on the Wolves tonight with the points. Minnesota impressed me with their fight in Game 4, and in a desperate spot, I expect them to compete here tonight and stay within this number. Minnesota is 3-1 ats against this number in this series, and I expect them to improve on that tonight.
Anthony Edwards is locked in at the moment, and I expect Karl Anthony Towns to get things rolling sooner than later and give Edwards support from a scoring standpoint. Let’s cash in tonight!
