Denver Nuggets vs. Phoenix Suns Game 2 Prediction
Denver was led by a strong effort from former Kentucky standout Jamal Murray. Murray has been the Nuggets' best player in the playoffs, and that is a welcomed sight for Nuggets fans. Murday was injured last season in the playoffs, which limited the opportunities of Denver, but if Murray continues his stellar play, Denver is going to be a tough team to knock off in this series.
Phoenix entered this series as the betting favorite despite being the lower-seeded team. The main reason for that is Kevin Durant, who was added at the trade deadline by Phoenix, making them the best team in the NBA on paper. Durant has been good in the playoffs so far, but the real star of this Suns team has been Devin Booker. Booker is tied with Jimmy Butler for the top scorer in the postseason with an average of 35.5 points per game.
The issue for the Suns in game one was their defense which allowed the Nuggets to shoot 43.2 percent from three. Phoenix actually shot a better percentage from the floor despite losing the game by 18 points. The Nuggets enter play tonight as a four-and-a-half-point favorite.
I am going to back the dog tonight and trust the Suns to bounce back. The Nuggets were a max play for us in game one, but this is a completely different spot tonight. I think that the books are overvaluing the Nuggets a bit too much based on Saturday night. Phoenix played much better than the score indicated, and the main reason that they lost the game was due to the Nugget's three-point shooting, which I think will naturally regress tonight. This feels like too many points to give a hungry Suns team off of a loss. Let’s stay hot and cash in!
