The Warriors briefly led the game in the first half, but it was all Los Angeles in the second half, and with about five minutes left in the game, it appeared as if they were going to blow out the Warriors, but we all know better than to think that. Golden State trailed by 14 points with just five minutes remaining, but they stormed back to tie the game up late. Despite not having his best game LeBron James was clutch when the Lakers needed him most, as he was able to hit the go-ahead basket and a clutch free throw late to get the Lakers to the finish line.
Los Angeles has been playing their best basketball over the last couple of months despite a sluggish start to the season. This makes them one of the most feared teams in basketball at the moment, and the Warriors are well aware of how tough this series will be. Golden State, meanwhile, has played from behind in a series a time or two before. This is a team that has a ton of playoff experience and championship DNA. The Warriors enter tonight’s game as a 5.5-point favorite.
I am going to trust the Warriors to bounce back and cover this spread tonight. Golden State should play with a sense of urgency as they are well aware of how crucial this game is for them at home tonight. If you are the Lakers, you have already done the job that you needed to do by winning one on the road. I fully expect them to play this game with tons of effort and energy, but the pressure is on the Warriors, and as we have seen many times in the past, this is when they thrive.
The Warriors struggled from the floor in game one, shooting just 40.6 percent, which I expect to go up tonight. Los Angels also attempted twenty-nine free throws in game one compared to just six for the Warriors, and I do not see that being the case again. The Warriors will bounce back and get a cover tonight.
