Los Angeles went into San Francisco and stole the first game of the series, but Game 2 was all Warriors as they blew out the Lakers to even up this series. Game 3 was right early, but the Lakers used a massive third quarter to get a blowout win of their own to take a 2-1 series lead.
The Lakers now have an opportunity to take complete control of this series with a win on their home floor tonight. It appeared as if this was a lost season for the Lakers at the all-star break, as they were not even a playoff team at the time. They have been the best team in basketball in the second half of the season, and now they are two wins away from going to the Western Conference Finals.
The stars have shined bright in this series as Anthony Davis and LeBron James have shown up and delivered on the big stage. Another guy who has been critical during this Lakers run is D'Angelo Russell. The Lakers are 6-0 so far in the playoffs when Russell scores more than seventeen points. When Russell scores less than seventeen, Los Angles is 0-3 in the postseason. It is certainly something to keep an eye on tonight.
Golden State, meanwhile, will need a class Steph and Klay game if they want to even this series tonight. The two combined for just thirty-eight points in game three. The Lakers enter this game as a three-point favorite tonight.
I love the Warriors to bounce back after a poor showing on Saturday night. I put my money on the Lakers on Saturday night, but this is a great bounce-back spot for the Warriors tonight. I understand that the Warriors struggled away from home this season, but it is important to note that this Warriors team just set the record for the most road wins in a series in NBA history when they went into Sacramento and won.
The point is that this roster has played in tons of high-pressure games, and I do not expect that to phase them tonight. The Warriors will shoot the ball much better in this game, particularly from three, as they shot just 29.5 percent in game three. Let’s keep things rolling on the hardwood and cash in!
