New York Knicks vs. Miami Heat Game 5 Prediction
The Knicks come into this game after dropping back-to-back games in the Sunshine State. New York entered this series as the betting favorite, but it has been all Heat thus far. Miami's path here has been special in itself. This team started in the play-in tournament, and at one point, it appeared that the Chicago Bulls were going to knock them off in Miami.
A late run from the Heat got them past the Bulls, but then nobody thought they would go into Milwaukee and knock off the number-one seed. They knocked off the number one-seeded Bucks and did it rather easily, winning the series in five games. One last thing to note is the Heat have done all of this without star guard Tyler Herro and Victor Oladipo, who has shown his ability to come and take games off the bench.
You would have to expect New York to come out tonight and play this game with a chip on their shoulder. Losing is one thing, but the Knicks have appeared to have played with a lack of effort in the last two games. In his post-game conference, Star Julius Randle even said that maybe the Heat just want it more. While he likely said that in frustration, I would be shocked if the Knicks came out flat tonight in front of their home crowd.
Miami has been a good team to fade straight up this year on the road, as they supported a road record of just 17-24 during the regular season. While I still believe that the Heat will win this series, I love this bounce-back spot at home for New York tonight. Let’s stay hot and cash in!
