If I’m opening up the article talking about this record-breaking total, you can safely assume that I’m taking the over. The Pacers score the most points per game in the NBA, and the Wizards don’t play a lick of defense. They have the worst defense efficiency in the league.
The Pacers’ defense isn’t anything to write home about, either. They have the fourth-worst defensive efficiency in the NBA this season, but they’ve been able to outscore their problems on the defense side of the floor all season. It won’t be any different tonight against this atrocious Wizards defense.
Luckily for the Wizards, they match up well with the Pacers. Indiana struggles to cover guards, and I’ve got a particular Wizard in mind who I’m looking to target. Tyus Jones might not be the biggest name on this Washington roster, but he’s been a spark-plug for this offense at times. He dropped 16 points against the Pacers earlier this season, and I’m willing to bet he does it again tonight. Look for Jones to be extra aggressive early in this game; he likes to do a lot of his scoring in the first quarter.
There is only one way to round-up this parlay, and it’s unfortunately taking the Wizards on the spread. They have yet to win a game this month, but they dropped 120 points against the Pacers in October, and this Indiana defense has been getting eaten alive over the past few weeks.
This is a winnable game for the Wizards with their high-tempo style of play that matches the Pacers energy. I was also surprised to see this spread within ten points, and with all the money coming in on the Pacers, the Wizards have moved to +8.5 on some books. This reverse line movement is a great sign for Wizards backers tonight.
