Vince Williams Jr. Grizzlies

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Memphis Grizzlies Prediction: Can Vince Williams Jr. Stay Hot Against Bucks?

The Memphis Grizzlies will host the Milwaukee Bucks on Thursday night. Can Vince Williams Jr. shine for the Grizzlies and help them pull an upset? Ben Rajavuori breaks down this matchup and provides his top prop pick in Bucks vs. Grizzlies.

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Memphis Grizzlies Prediction: Can Vince Williams Jr. Stay Hot Against Bucks?

The Milwaukee Bucks travel to Memphis tonight to take on the Memphis Grizzlies. The Bucks have not been playing their best under new head coach Doc Rivers, as they are 4-6 over their last 10 games, and are coming off a blowout loss against the Heat on Tuesday. They get a chance to bounce back tonight against a Memphis squad that has been struggling this season due to some injuries. The Grizzlies are sitting at 19–36 on the season, and are in 13th place in the Western Conference. They have been dealing with injuries to Ja Morant, Desmond Bane, and now Marcus Smart. However, they are coming off a win against the Rockets yesterday, beating them 121–113. What should we expect tonight?

Milwaukee Bucks vs. Memphis Grizzlies Prediction:

The player I am looking at in this game is Vince Williams Jr. The guard is in his second season in the NBA, and has been having a much bigger year than he did in his rookie year. Williams only played in 15 games last year, and averaged seven minutes in those games with just two points. This year, he has taken on a much larger role, as he is averaging 26.4 minutes with 9.4 points per game, 5.5 rebounds per game, and 2.8 assists per game. While he started the year on the bench, the multitude of injuries the Grizzlies are dealing with has allowed him to move into the starting role. Williams has started 24 games this season, and his usage increased in these starts, as he has averaged 12.5 points, 6.5 rebounds, and 3.9 assists as a starter this season. With the Grizzlies dealing with injuries to several top guards including Ja Morant, Marcus Smart, Derrick Rose, Luke Kennard, and Scotty Pippen Jr., Vince Williams has gotten a lot of playing time, and his usage has been off the charts. Williams is one of the last healthy guards that the Grizzlies have. As a result, he averaged 33 minutes in January and 35 minutes to start February. Last night, he played 35 minutes against the Rockets and had 12 points, 8 rebounds, and 7 assists. Tonight, we are targeting his assists. Over his last four games, Vince Williams has had seven, nine, eight, and eight assists, respectively. He has averaged 6.1 assists over the first seven games in February, with his increased usage and his assist line tonight is 5.5. This has jumped up already from the opening line of 4.5, and I still love it at this number. Even on a back-to-back, Williams should get lots of minutes in tonight‘s game as he has proven himself in the guard role and has been dishing it out a lot more recently. He leads the Grizzlies in potential assists in February so far, and I expect him to be a big piece of their offense tonight against the Bucks, who may be down Giannis Antetokounmpo and now Damian Lillard on top of Khris Middleton already being listed out for this game. Expect the Grizzlies to play a competitive game and for Vince Williams to light up the box score with assists again tonight.
