NBA All-Star weekend starts tonight with the celebrity All-Star game game at 7 p.m. ET. Tomorrow night is my favorite, though, as we get the dunk contest and 3-point contest. The events start at 8 p.m. ET tomorrow, with the Kia Skills challenge coming first and the 3-point contest coming second. I have my favorite player picked to win the 3-point contest this year below.

2024 3-Point Contest Predictions
As it stands right now, Damian Lillard is the betting favorite at +475 to win the three-point contest this year. This seems like an obvious pick, as Damian Lillard is the defending three-point contest champion from last year. Damian Lillard is fifth all-time in three-pointers made in the NBA, and will likely pass Reggie Miller this year and take over fourth by the end of the season. While Damian Lillard is a popular pick and is of course an excellent three-point shooter, I think there’s more value in some of the other players, including my favorite pick for the three-point contest, Malik Beasley. Malik Beasley is my dark dark horse for this competition due to the sheer level he is shooting it from the perimeter this season. While Beasley may be one of the less-known names in the competition this year, do not count out the sharpshooter. Malik Beasley is seventh in the NBA so far this season in three-point percentage, averaging 44.4% from three this year. He is having the best year from range of his career so far. In his ninth season in the NBA, he’s averaging a career-high 44.4% from three, which is nearly two percentage points higher than his second-best season in the 2019–20 season with a 42.6% three-point average.
Beasley is probably being overlooked for this contest because he has the lowest points per game of any of the people on this list. However, he does basically all of his shooting from three. He averages 6.53 point attempts per game and just 8.8 field goals overall per game. he has the highest three-point-to-field goal ratio of anyone in the competition this year. Malik Beasley is also very hot coming into the contest. Over the last week heading into this weekend, he is 17–33 from three in four games over the last week, averaging 51.5% from three. That momentum will help him heading into the contest on Saturday night. Malik Beasley is tied with Lauri Markkanen, Karl Anthony Towns, and Jalen Brunson for the second highest odds to win the competition. Damian Lillard, Tyrese Haliburton, and Trae Young are all favored over the rest of the competition. I am backing Malik Beasley at a good price, as he has been having his best season from three-point range, and has been the sharpest shooter from deep in the competition this season.
