The Charlotte Hornets travel to Washington, DC tonight to take on the Wizards from Capital One Arena. The Hornets and Wizards are both at the bottom of the Eastern Conference, as the Hornets have a record of 15–47 and the Wizards have a record of 9–53. While this is not a great game for an NBA fan, there’s still lots of money to be made for bettors. There’s one specific matchup in this game that I absolutely love tonight.

Charlotte Hornets vs. Washington Wizards Prop Pick
The player I love in this matchup tonight is Hornets rookie forward Brandon Miller. Miller was taken second overall in the 2023 draft out of Alabama and has made a serious case for rookie of the year, if only Chet Holmgren and Victor Wembanyama did not exist. Miller has been one of the best rookies in the NBA this season, and he has ticked up his stats in every category basically month-by-month this season. This is an exceptional spot for Brandon Miller to exploit because he is facing a Wizard's defense that has ranked dead last in the NBA allowing 124.6 points per game. They also rank second-worst in opponent field goal percentage. The Wizards play basically no defense and opposing teams can score at will against them, which bodes well for Brandon Miller in this matchup. The wizards allow the second most points in the NBA to small forwards and they allow the most assists to small forwards with 4.77 per game. The Hornets are also dealing with injuries, as LaMelo Ball is still out, and Tre Mann is now questionable with a right groin strain tonight. With the Hornets trading away Terry Rozier, Gordon Hayward, Grant Williams, and PJ Washington, there are not that many scoring options left for the Hornets that are healthy right now besides Miles Bridges and Brandon Miller. The two will be at the forefront of the offense tonight, but Brandon Miller has the lower line of the two. With the Hornets back on a bit of a losing streak and stalling offensively against some very good defenses lately, I like their offense to bounce back tonight against the worst defense in the NBA. Miller has shined in this offense lately and has been one of the main scorers for this team since their trades and the LaMelo Ball injury. Miller has faced the Wizards three times, but all were in November when Miller was still just warming up to the NBA and only averaging 13 points per game on lower minutes. Since the beginning of February, Miller has been averaging 20.9 points per game and has been the star of this offense along with Miles Bridges. I expect him to hit at least 20 points tonight and also rack up some assists, easily clearing his line of 23.5 points plus assists.
