The Golden State Warriors travel to San Antonio tonight to take on the Spurs from Frost Bank Center starting at 8 PM ET. The Warriors and Spurs just played on Saturday in California, with the Spurs beating them 126–113. Part of the loss could be attributed to the big injury for the Warriors, who are down Stephen Curry because of an ankle injury. With Curry still out, what should we expect in this game tonight?

Golden State Warriors vs. San Antonio Spurs Prediction
The player I expect to step up for the Warriors tonight is shooting guard Klay Thompson. Klay went big for the Warriors at home on Saturday against the Spurs, shooting 8–16 for 27 points in the game. While it wasn’t enough to get the win, Thompson Shot well in that game and has actually been playing really well as of late off the bench. Klay Thompson was moved to the bench after struggling to start the season. He started 51 games and has now played the last nine off the bench. Oddly enough, all his numbers have improved across the board. He is playing just 26 minutes on average from the bench as opposed to 30 minutes when he was starting. Amazingly, he is averaging 19.7 points off the bench instead of 16.7 as a starter. His shooting has improved to 46.6% from the field as opposed to 41% as a starter this season. He’s also shooting 44% from three off the bench as opposed to 36.9% from three to start the season in the starting rotation. The move to the bench for Klay Thompson has appeared to pay off largely for Steve Kerr and the Warriors. Even with Curry sitting due to the injury last game, Thompson still came off the bench. While playing just 25 minutes, he shot 10 threes and made five of them for 50%. His three-point attempts have actually gone up despite playing fewer minutes from the bench. He is averaging 9.63 three-point attempts per game from the bench as opposed to 8.5 when he was in the starting rotation. We all know Klay for being one of the best shooters in the NBA, and while it has not shown consistently this season, moving to the bench seems to have revitalized his shooting.
He has made 4+ threes in six of his last eight games. He has made five threes in back-to-back games. With Curry averaging 12.13 three-point attempts per game and now missing this game due to injury, Klay Thompson has to step up off the bench and attempt a lot of threes. Klay's threes prop is at 3.5 tonight, which feels low given this spot for him. He is averaging 9.6 attempts off the bench and should easily have double-digit attempts tonight with Curry out again. The Spurs allow opponents to shoot 38% from three, which is 27th in the NBA. We just need clay to shoot for/10 or better tonight to hit this prop.
