Friday’s Best +EV Betting Picks and Predictions
1. Jose Ramirez Over 0.5 RBI's (+120) Click here to see which Sportsbook has the best odds
- AI Projection: 1
- Cover: 64%
- Hit Rate: 10/15
- +EV: 40%
The Cleveland Guardians will bring in the Washington Nationals to Progressive Field for a weekend series. The Nats are flying high after taking three of four from the Atlanta Braves this week, but are about to crash back to earth against one of the best teams in baseball. Jose Ramirez is one of the hottest hitters in baseball, and has made headlines for his comparisons and comments about Barry Bonds lately. He has batted in a run in 10 of his last 15 games, including seven in a row before a miss in his last game. That seven game stretch saw him smash 15 RBI's and five homers for the Guardians as they continue to rack up wins. Ramirez doesn't go multiple games without an RBI often this year, so let's hop back on his wagon to restart a new streak tonight against Patrick Corbin. The Nats pitcher has allowed 13 runs in his last three starts, and will likely struggle against this offense again today. Our AI model projects him at well over his 0.5 RBI total, and the +120 line leads to a lucrative 40% +EV.
2. Kelsey Plum Under 19.5 Points (-115) Click here to see which Sportsbook has the best odds
- AI Projection: 17.4
- Cover: 61%
- Hit Rate: 3/5
- +EV: 14%
The Las Vegas Aces will visit the Atlanta Dream on Friday night for a WNBA battle. Kelsey Plum has been one of the stars of the Aces for several years, but has not been scoring at a high rate to start the season. She shot 40% in just one game so far this year, and hasn't meshed with A'ja Wilson the way she has in years past. Plum has gone under this number in three of five games so far this year, and only truly flown over once. Our AI model expects her shooting woes to continue against Atlanta tonight as she comes off of a game with just 10 points. We project her at 17.4, well below her 19.5 allotted line, and good for a 61% cover projection.
3. Connor McDavid Under 1.5 Points (+100) Click here to see which Sportsbook has the best odds
- AI Projection: 1.14
- Cover: 66%
- Hit Rate: 8/15
- +EV: 32%
The Dallas Stars will take on the Edmonton Oilers in Game 5 of the Western Conference Finals. The Oilers just staged a massive comeback in Game 4 the other day, coming back from an immediate 2-0 deficit with a five-goal flurry. Connor McDavid didn't find the back of the net, but did assist on three of those goals. He has gone over this number in three of the four games against Dallas, but was held without a point in a 3-1 Game 2 loss. Jake Oettinger is not going to get walloped for 4+ goals again at home in Game 5, and will be sure to tighten up between the posts tonight. Look for the Stars to try and bounce back at home in this one, and limit McDavid and the Oilers offense in a quick turnaround. This line has hit in 8 of the last 15 games, and our AI prediction of 1.14 total points leads to a strong gap and EV of 32%.
4. David Fry Over 1.5 Total Bases (+145) Click here to see which Sportsbook has the best odds
- AI Projection: 2
- Cover: 52%
- Hit Rate: 8/15
- +EV: 28%
We're going back to the well on this Nationals vs. Guardians game here for another strong +EV pick. David Fry is crushing for the Guardians with a .353 average right now, contributing to the third-best record in the MLB. He has five hits in his last three games, and is scorching hot for this Cleveland squad. Let's target him to keep it going in a favorable matchup against Patrick Corbin on Friday night. Our AI projection has him at 2 total bases, and at +145 odds, this leads to a strongly positive expected value of 28%.
5. JP Sears Under 3.5 Earned Runs (-125) Click here to see which Sportsbook has the best odds
- AI Projection: 2.7
- Cover: 69%
- Hit Rate: 9/15
- +EV: 24%
The Oakland Athletics will travel to Atlanta tonight for a weekend series with the Atlanta Braves. You may be thinking that the Braves offense is primed to light up a struggling Athletics squad tonight as a -225 favorite, but there is more than meets the eye here. The Braves lost Ronald Acuna Jr. earlier in the week to an ACL, and have failed to perform against a mediocre Nationals squad. They've scored just five runs in their last three games, and haven't been able to get the lineup to click in the wake of the injury.
On the other side, JP Sears has been performing well for the A's, and just turned in a six inning shutout of the high-powered Astros squad. A week before that, he did the exact same thing to the Stros, allowing just one run in five innings. If he can consistently do that against Houston, a similar showing may be in order against Atlanta. Sears is also allowing just a .188 career batting average against this Braves roster, with only four hits in 29 at-bats. He has five strikeouts and zero homers allowed as well. This bet has a positive EV of 24% and a 69% cover projection, and we'll look for Sears to stay hot as an underdog on the road.
