This Weekend's Best Bets: The Five Best Bets for the Weekend Ahead

Some sports fans say the summer is dry.

But I don't see it.

There's always MLB, but the Paris Olympics are starting up. The Big 3 is also ongoing, and the 3M Open has just started for golf fans.

Plus, we can't forget about UFC 304, with two major fights on the card.

We'll provide some of our favorite picks for these events below. Check it all out below!

Favorite 5 Weekend Picks

Olympics Men's Basketball: Australia -5.5 (-110) ($110 to collect $210)

Saturday, July 27, 5:00 AM ET

This first Olympics Men's Basketball matchup will have many notable names.

Spain's team will include Juancho and Willy Hernangomez, along with solid NBA role player Santi Aldama.

However, Australia will be led by way more NBA-caliber players. Patty Mills will lead the team as he always does. But he'll have plenty of help from Dyson Daniels, Jock Landale, Joe Ingles, Josh Green, Dante Exum (who might not play), and Duop Reath, to name some.

Mills averaged 21.7 points in the last Olympics and scored 19 points per game in the FIBA World Cup just last year. Australia will be tough if Mills continues to play at this level.

UFC 304: Tom Aspinall vs. Curtis Blaydes Under 1.5 Rounds (-166) (Bet $166 to collect $266)

Saturday, July 27 - CO-MAIN EVENT Approx 11:45 pm ET

Tom Aspinall will fight Curtis Blaydes for the interim UFC Heavyweight title.

Curtis Blaydes is a good wrestler. But as long as Aspinall can stay on his feet, he'll likely be able to knock him out quickly.

Aspinall is one of the best fighters in the world. He doesn't have many weaknesses. He moves fast for a bigger guy and is just always aware. Aspinall will prove he's one of the best strikers in the game and end this fight Under 1.5 rounds.

UFC 304: Belal Muhammed vs. Leon Edwards Over 4.5 Rounds (-210) (Bet $210 to collect $310)

Sunday, July 28 - MAIN EVENT Approx 12:15 am ET

It should be another exciting main event for UFC on Saturday night. Leon Edwards is known for having good wrestling defense. He's a terrific grappler.

He's had moments where he was able to take down Colby Covington. But it won't take random risks or put himself in danger.

On the other hand, Muhammed also won't take risks and take what's given. He was ultimately getting beat up in the first matchup against Edwards and won't want to join that territory again.

When these two clash, it'll likely go the distance.

Olympics Men's Basketball: Puerto Rico vs. South Sudan: South Sudan (-120) ($120 to collect $220)

Sunday, July 28, 5:00 AM ET

Puerto Rico and South Sudan played head-to-head in last year's FIBA World Cup. Puerto Rico escaped South Sudan, but it needed overtime to do so.

Carlik Jones scored 35 points in that game and added 12 assists with five rebounds and four steals. His efficiency has been through the roof, and he's not afraid of competition.

After all, Jones, the former Louisville prospect, added a triple-double against the USA in an exhibition game. Jones has Wenyen Gabriel to lead the way and has just made everyone around him better. Let's grab South Sudan to take care of business this time against Puerto Rico.

Olympics Men's Basketball: USA vs. Serbia: USA -12.5 (-112) ($112 to collect $212)

Sunday, July 28, 11:15 AM ET

The USA toyed around with different lineups and played too loose on both ends during their exhibition matchups.

But I'd like to think those games were a bit of a wake-up call.

The USA probably has too much talent, and that's not always a good thing. But if the team can be more selfless, stop making careless passes, and defend on the defensive end, no team will have a chance at beating Team USA.

While the USA had some poor games during the exhibition stretch, they still defeated Serbia 105-79 in Abu Dhabi. I wouldn't expect anything less now that these games actually count.
