Knicks vs. Celtics Prediction, Pick Against the Spread and Latest Odds For Opening Night

The New York Knicks and the Boston Celtics tip off the NBA season from TD Garden on Tuesday Night in what is being billed as a preview of two teams with title expectations from the Eastern Conference.

New York comes into this contest after an entertaining offseason.

The Knicks enjoyed their best regular season since 2012 last season, posting a record of 50-32. New York defeated the Philadelphia 76ers to reach the Eastern Conference semifinals, where they lost to the Pacers in seven games.

In the offseason, the Knicks made headlines when they traded for former Villanova standout Mikal Bridges. Bridges is one of the best defensive players in the NBA and will be crucial to the Knicks' success this season.

Their second trade of the offseason came as a shock to many.

New York traded Julius Randle and Donte DiVincenzo in exchange for superstar Karl-Anthony Towns.

DiVincenzo was vocal about his disappointment with the trade as he was one of the key players on the Knicks roster a season ago.

With the addition of Towns, New York is now one of the best teams in the Eastern Conference this season.

New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics Odds

Tuesday's matchup between these two teams is a showdown between what some consider to be the two best teams in the Eastern Conference. That's why it's a little strange to see Knicks vs. Celtics odds so lopsided. The Celtics opened as 6-point favorites over the Knicks, but that is down to 5.5 points now in some places.

The addition of Karl-Anthony Towns may not be seen as a positive by everyone. Julius Randle provided this team with an edge when healthy. While KAT is immensely talented, we'll see if he fits in with the rest of the pieces in place in New York.

New York Knicks vs. Boston Celtics Prediction

The Celtics will be hanging a championship banner on what should be a massive night in Boston on Tuesday. Last season, Joe Muzzulas's squad claimed their first Championship since 2008.

The Celtics have reached the playoffs in seven consecutive seasons. The last time Boston missed the postseason was in 2013 when they went 25-47.

Since 2007, the Celtics have missed the postseason just once. The Celts enter the year as the betting favorite to repeat as NBA Champions.

Jayson Tatum led the Celtics with 26.9 points per game and 8.1 rebounds. Jaylen Brown enjoyed a strong season with 23.0 points per game and 3.6 assists.

But, will it be enough to take out Jalen Brunson, Karl-Anthony Towns, Mikal Bridges and the rest of the Knicks tonight?

We will ride with the road underdog tonight.

New York matches up well with this Celtics team. I think Boston will struggle to slow down the pick-and-roll game of Brunson and Towns, which will lead to a lot of easy buckets and open looks.

Additionally, the Celtics will be without Kristaps Porzingis tonight. We will see a back-and-forth contest that favors the underdog.

Let’s start the season with a win!
