Raptors vs. Cavaliers Prediction, Pick Against the Spread and Latest Odds for Wednesday

The Cleveland Cavaliers and the Toronto Raptors meet from The Six tonight to tip off the NBA season.

Cleveland enters the season with Championship aspirations after the Cavs posted a record of 48-34 a year ago. That record landed the Cavs in the postseason for the second consecutive season after missing the playoffs for four straight years.

Despite making the playoffs, Cleveland fired former head coach J.B Bickerstaff.

Former Nets head coach Kenny Atkinson will take over as the team's new head coach.

The Cavs defeated the Orlando Magic in round one but were eliminated by the Boston Celtics in the Eastern Conference semifinals.

Toronto struggled a season ago with a record of 25-57. Last year was the Raptor's worst season since 2011. Since winning the NBA finals in 2019 the Raptors have reached the postseason just twice.

Head coach Darko Rajakovic is confident that his team will improve this season. The Raptors' odds are +600 to reach the postseason.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors Prediction

Former Lousiville standout Donovan Mitchell led the Cavs with 26.6 points per game last season. Darius Garland enjoyed a strong year with 18.0 points and a team-best 6.5 assists. Big man Jarrett Allen led the team with 10.5 boards.

Scottie Barnes led the Raptors last season with 19.9 points per game. Canada native RJ Barrett had a strong season, averaging 21.8 points and 6.4 rebounds. However, Barrett will not play tonight.

Veteran Dennis Schroeder led the team with 6.1 assists.

Cleveland Cavaliers vs. Toronto Raptors Pick

We will ride with the home dog tonight.

Toronto is much better than their record indicated a season ago. The Raptors will be a scrappy team this season, and I love the value we are getting from them at home tonight.

We will see a back-and-forth contest that favors the underdog.
