Dillon Brooks Houston Rockets

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Houston Rockets Best Bet: Can Dillon Brooks Get Revenge On His Former Team?

The Houston Rockets play host to the Memphis Grizzlies. A Key Player I am targeting is Dillon Brooks. Coming off a game he didn't do much offensively, look for him to be aggressive against his former squad. Here's how I'm backing him.

Brooks had a disappointing start to his season, scoring only 2 Points. He had more fouls than points (4). Look for him to bounce back tonight and here's why.

Memphis Grizzlies vs. Houston Rockets Prediction

Brooks only saw six FGAs in Game 1. Very low for him. In the preseason, we saw Brooks play really well scoring 15, 13 and 12 points across limited minutes. He played 31 minutes in their 1st game...and he will continue to see minutes given his prowess for playing defense. While I hope he does great on defense, we want him to figure it out on the other side of the floor.

Last year, Brooks averaged 12.7 PPG in 30.9 MPG. He always seemed to turn it up an extra notch vs. his former squad, the Memphis Grizzlies. We all know how emotional of a player Brooks is...these sort of matchups are circled on his calendar. Last year, in four games vs. Memphis, Brooks scored 13, 11, 26 and 19 points. He attempted 14, 8, 20 & 17 FGs. Do I expect 14+ FGAs? Absolutely not. But, even in a game like the 1st, where he was 1-6 and several of his teammates had it going, he still saw six FGAs. I believe tonight we could see 8+. He scored 10+ points in 60% of games he attempted 8+ shots in. Raise that to 10+, the hit rate skyrockets to 80%. Let's hope he's motivated to face his former team tonight.

Good luck everyone!
