The Denver Nuggets will host the Dallas Mavericks tonight from Denver, Colorado in an NBA Cup clash.

Dallas begins this game with an 8-7 record. The Mavs entered the season as one of the betting favorites to win the West.

Last season, Dallas won the Western Conference Championship, earning a trip to the NBA finals. Unfortunately for the Mavs faithful, they came up short of their ultimate goal.

The season thus far has been up and down for the Mavericks, but Dallas has been red-hot lately. They've won three games in a row, and will try to find continued success even with the latest injury news.

Mavericks vs. Nuggets Prediction

The Mavericks got bad news this week when it was announced that Luka Doncic would miss the next few weeks. Doncic leads the Mavs with 28.1 points and 7.6 assists per game.

Veteran Kyrie Irving has been great for the Mavs, with 24.3 points per game and 4.4 rebounds. Klay Thompson rounds out the group of stars, adding 14.0 points and 1.7 assists.

The Mavericks have averaged 115.6 points per game.

Denver pulls into the matchup with an 8-5 record. After winning the NBA finals two years ago, the Nuggets were disappointed with their season a year ago. Head Coach Michael Malone is confident that his team will be back in the Championship mix this season.

The Nuggets have lost two out of their last three games. Denver last played on Tuesday night when they defeated the Memphis Grizzlies 122-110.

Two-time MVP Nikola Jokic leads the Nuggets with 29.7 points, 13.7 rebounds, and 11.7 assists. Michael Porter Jr. has enjoyed a strong season, averaging 18.3 points per game. Jamal Murray has averaged 18.3 points and 5.5 assists.

Denver has scored 116.5 points per game as a team.

The shorthanded Mavericks will struggle on the road tonight.

Jokic has not been confirmed to play tonight, but even if the Joker can't play, I am confident in this Nuggets team. If Jokic does play, this line will continue to jump.

The Nuggets have been one of the best teams in the NBA at home the last two seasons.
