Derrick White is coming off two games where he performed well below his standards and his averages. He popped up on the injury report with an illness prior to those games, so I do believe there's a possibility his game was affected by that. Also, Boston has been fully healthy with Porzingis back in the mix in those games. However, this matchup screams bounce back to me. The Toronto Raptors have allowed the MOST catch and shoot 3's and the MOST above the break 3's over the last 15 games, and have had one of the worst defenses overall in this span. This is perfect for a guy like Derrick White, who ranks 4th in the NBA in Catch and Shoot 3's made per game at 2.5, and takes 7.4 above the break 3-point attempts on average per game.

Additionally, Derrick White has played extremely well on the road this season. He has three or more threes in 12 of 16 road games this season, averaging 8.4 three-point attempts. In his last five games vs. Toronto, he has hit 3+ threes in four of the five games, averaging 8.8 attempts. The main thing that really caught my attention was how he has performed in blowout games. When Boston wins by 10 or more points, White has hit 3+ threes in 15 of 17 games. When they have won by 15 or more points, he has hit 3+ threes in 11 of 12 games. I think there is a very real possibility here that White takes 8 to 12 attempts from three-point range. Toronto has allowed the 2nd highest 3-point percentage over the last 15 games at 38.7%, so if he catches fire like I think he can, he very well could climb this ladder and get up to six or seven threes, which he's shown that he's capable of this season.
