The Boston Celtics will host the Orlando Magic on Friday night in a game that has a fairly large point spread at 14.5 points. The Celics are coming off an embarrassing loss to one of the worst teams in the NBA in the Toronto Raptors on Wednesday. One person I'm expecting to bounce back on this Celtics team is superstar Jayson Tatum, which is why I'm targeting his points prop in this Magic vs. Celtics clash.

Magic vs. Celtics Prediction
Jayson Tatum is one of those players that tends to bounce back after a bad performance. On Wednesday vs. Toronto, Tatum only scored 16 points on 33% shooting, which is well below his standards. This season, Tatum has scored 20 or fewer points in nine games. One thing I noticed is that he tends to over-perform in games following these bad performances. In his last eight games following a game of 20 points or fewer, he has scored 25 or more points each time, averaging over 32.5 points per game.
The Magic are a team that don't allow a ton of catch and shoot opportunities, so the players that tend to perform well against them are players that can create their own shot like Tatum. Also, Goga Bitadze is out for this game, so the Magic's rim protection is not as strong as it usually is. I think the spot is overall great for him to rack up points. There is definitely blowout concern here, but Jayson Tatum has a rotation that pretty much guarantees him close to 30 minutes regardless of blowouts. He plays the entire 1st and 3rd quarters typically, so at worst he sees 30-32 minutes. Given the motivational spot and matchup, I expect a solid night from the Celtics star and think he could even climb up his ladder if he's able to be efficient.
