NBA Thursday Parlay Picks: Can Dyson Daniels, Keon Ellis Deliver on Defense Tonight?

We have a rather large NBA slate this Thursday, and a lot of teams are on back to backs. I am back today with a defensive prop parlay for the NBA slate, which I've been having a ton of fun and success with as of late. I have put together a steals parlay with two versions. The two players I am taking for this parlay is Hawks guard Dyson Daniels and Kings guard Keon Ellis. I am going to dive into why I am liking this pairing, and why I like our odds of cashing.

NBA Thursday Parlay Picks - January 23rd

Leg 1: Dyson Daniels 2+ Steals, 3+ Steals

The first leg of the parlay I decided to add is Dyson Daniels for two and three steals. Dyson has been the best in the league so far this season at getting deflections and steals. When playing at least 25 minutes, he has recorded two or more steals in 78% of games this season, and three or more steals in 61% of games this season. When playing at home, his hit rates increase significantly, with a 93% hit rate for 2+ steals and 80% hit rate for 3+ steals. The matchup could not be much better against the Toronto Raptors, who have allowed the 2nd most steals to opposing guards this season. I love the prices we are getting for Dyson Daniels and I expect him to be able to rack up steals tonight.

Leg 2: Keon Ellis 1+ Steals, 2+ Steals

Leg number two of this parlay is Keon Ellis for one and two steals against the Denver Nuggets. I am expecting Keon Ellis to play around 20 minutes or so, but I do think there is potential for more. He is a great defender, and sometimes sees a boost in minutes when the Kings prioritize defense. Since he is in the 2nd unit, he also is less at risk of losing minutes if this game ends up being a blowout. When Keon Ellis plays between 14 minutes and 26 minutes, he has one or more steals in 13 of his last 15 games played, with two or more steals in 7 of the last 11 games played. Last time out vs. Denver, he recorded two steals and four blocks in 33 minutes. That game was without Keegan Murray, so its unlikely he would see that many minutes here again. The matchup is still great, as the Denver Nuggets have allowed the 5th-most steals to opposing guards this season. I feel extremely confident that if Keon gets the minutes I'm expecting, that he will be able to get us one steal at least, and potentially two. Let's cash a steals parlay tonight!
