Suns vs. Spurs Prop Picks: Can Chris Paul Crash the Glass in Victor Wembanyama's Absence?

The Spurs shut down Victor Wembanyama for the season with a shocking blood clot issue today, so someone has to step up and replace his production. You might not expect Chris Paul to be the guy, but the savvy veteran finds ways to come up with boards, explains MJC Locks. Check out these prop picks for Suns vs. Spurs for Thursday, February 20th.

Suns vs. Spurs Prop Picks: Can Chris Paul Crash the Glass in Victor Wembanyama's Absence?

The NBA is finally back with a big slate for today! The San Antonio Spurs host the Phoenix Suns on Thursday night in the NBA, and I've found a player prop ladder play for this game that I am really liking. I'm going to be looking at Chris Paul props in this game and will be targeting his rebounds, and laddering them up to 8+ rebounds. Let me explain my though process here.

Wondering who will come out victorious in this Suns vs. Spurs showdown? We've got more than just player props, as Next Level Bets previews this Suns vs. Spurs clash and adds a betting pick for tonight.

Suns vs. Spurs Prediction

Victor Wembanyama was unfortunately announced out for the season earlier today with a pretty scary injury. The Spurs will definitely miss him this season, especially on the glass grabbing rebounds. But, that opens things up for other players to grab more boards, and I think Chris Paul is one player in particular who likely benefits from Wemby's absence. In six games without Wemby this season, Chris Paul has gone for four or more rebounds in all six games, averaging 5.2 rebounds on 7.8 rebound chances, which is absurd.

The Phoenix Suns have been a good team to target when it comes to guard rebounds, as they've allowed the 5th-most rebounds to opposing point guards this season and over the last 15 days of NBA games. Earlier this season when these two teams matched up, we saw Chris Paul grab eight rebounds on nine chances, and I think he may be able to replicate that here again tonight. This is Chris Paul's former team, and he is playing against one of his good friends in Devin Booker. He should be motivated, and I expect him to play harder than he would a normal game. Rebounds are typically a hustle stat so I think this could give an extra boost to his rebounds. Additionally, he likely will be guarding one of the lowest usage players on the Suns, so he should be able to find himself in good rebounding positions.

The last angle that really stands out to me is how CP3 does when he sees the chances. In games where he's had at least six rebound chances, he has gone over 3.5 rebounds in 28 of 32 games, and has climbed his ladder in many of those games. Let's hope he can do it again for us and cash us out tonight!
