Clippers vs. Nuggets Same-Game Parlay: Can Kawhi Leonard, Clippers Bounce Back in Game 2?

The Denver Nuggets overcame a 15-point deficit to defeat the Los Angeles Clippers 112-110 in Game 1 of the Western Conference first-round matchup. Nikola Jokic earned a near-triple-double, and Aaron Gordon added 25 points in the win.

Meanwhile, James Harden scored 32 points with 11 assists and six rebounds, but it wasn't enough to help the Clippers get by the Nuggets. Instead, Harden watched his former Oklahoma City teammate make clutch plays for the Nuggets.

That former teammate was Russell Westbrook, who scored 15 points off the bench, including a clutch three-pointer in the corner and a major defensive stop to help them escape the Clippers.

Ultimately, the Clippers turned the ball over 20 times, which led to 29 points conceded off turnovers. That was the difference. We'll see if Los Angeles can correct those mistakes in tonight's Game 2 of the first-round series.

Below, I've added a same-game parlay for tonight's Game 2 matchup between the Clippers and Nuggets.

NBA Same Game Parlay - Los Angeles Clippers vs. Denver Nuggets

Leg 1: Clippers -1.5 (-110)

The Nuggets gained 19.8% of turnovers in Game 1 of this series. That's high, even for the Clippers. Ultimately, Los Angeles has turned the ball over about 15% of the time this season. You'd like to think Los Angeles won't turn the ball over nearly as much as in Game 1 of the series.

Additionally, Los Angeles was still able to shoot a 57% effective field goal percentage and take down 26.7% of offensive rebounds. With fewer turnovers, the Clippers will have even more success shooting the basketball.

Meanwhile, the Clippers didn't force nearly as many turnovers. However, LA still limited the Nuggets to a 48.9% effective field goal percentage. The Clippers' key to the game is to limit turnovers on offense and continue to force bad shots from the Nuggets. If they do those two things, the series will be tied at one.

Leg 2: Aaron Gordon Under 16.5 Points (-114)

Aaron Gordon scored 25 points against the Clippers in Game 1. Yet, six of those points came in overtime. Ultimately, he's hit this line in just 37% of games this season and will face a Clippers defense that has held power forwards to the fewest points per game this season.

We discussed earlier how the Clippers held the Nuggets to an effective field goal percentage below 50%. They're tough to score against when there are no easy baskets off turnovers. Gordon scored no more than 14 points in the other three previous games against the Clippers. He'll come back down to life tonight.

Leg 3: Kawhi Leonard Under 6.5 Rebounds (-118)

Kawhi Leonard finished with only six rebounds against the Nuggets in Game 1 of this series. He's also added no more than six rebounds in five of his last seven games against the Nuggets.

That's because the Nuggets rank second in the NBA in rebounds allowed to small forwards this season. In addition, the Nuggets rank first in the NBA in defensive rebounds allowed to small forwards and 8th in offensive rebounds allowed to small forwards.

Leonard has averaged just eight rebound chances per game over his last ten games. He'd have to be almost perfect to grab at least seven rebounds in tonight's game against the Nuggets.

Clippers vs. Nuggets Same-Game Parlay (+452) (Bet $100 to Collect $552)

  • Leg 1: Clippers -1.5 (-110)
  • Leg 2: Aaron Gordon Under 16.5 Points (-114)
  • Leg 3: Kawhi Leonard Under 6.5 Rebounds (-118)
