Despite losing to the Celtics in all four regular-season matchups, the Knicks stole Game 1 on Tuesday and gained an early advantage in their second-round series.
It sure helped that Boston clanked 45 3-point shots. The Celtics have to be kicking themselves after letting a 20-point lead slip away, but they have their opportunity for revenge tonight in Game 2.
New York still had to grind out a comeback, too, and it needed every bit of the 29-point outings from Jalen Brunson and OG Anunoby.
While many NBA observers have criticized Boston for relying so heavily on the 3-point shot, it's hard to imagine the Celtics straying from the strategy that led them to a championship last year. They did lead for the majority of Game 1 after all, and it doesn't seem like Boston head coach Joe Mazzulla is one for wholesale changes.

Knicks vs. Celtics Prediction
Game 1 sure escalated quickly for the Celtics. Midway through the third quarter, they were sitting pretty with the 20-point lead and it looked like another blowout win over the Knicks from the regular season.
Then Boston couldn't hit the broad side of a barn, Anunoby and Brunson were draining threes, and all of a sudden, the Celtics are leaving TD Garden with a 0-1 series deficit.
It was an ugly defeat, but I don't think it carries over into Game 2. Boston will come out hot like it did in Game 1, and this time it won't relinquish its big lead.
The Celtics are just too talented to fall down 0-2 to the Knicks, and there is no way they shoot as badly as they did in Game 1.
Making just 15 of 60 3-point attempts is truly heinous. Boston will do better than that just based on positive regression, since it led the NBA in 3-pointers made per game in the regular season. We know they are capable of better 3-point shooting, and I think we see it tonight.
Plus, I doubt they will even come close to 60 shots from deep again. Expect Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to shake off their rough Game 1 performances by attacking the rim and exploiting New York's so-so interior defense. Boston won't stop shooting from long range, but I think it will tone it down a little and go inside.
Speaking of 3-point regression, I doubt the Knicks hit 45.9% of threes like they did on Tuesday. That level of efficiency is almost impossible to replicate from game to game.
Look for Tatum and Brown to bounce back in a Celtics blowout victory.
