Nuggets vs. Thunder Prediction: Can Aaron Gordon Save Denver on Road in Game 5?
The Thunder were able to eke out an ugly 92-87 win in Game 4 to even the series against Denver in the Western Conference semifinals. It’s not often a team shoots 35.6% from the field and 24.4% from three-point range and wins, but the Nuggets were even worse at 31.3% from the field and 24.4% from beyond the arc.
Outside of a 43-point win by the Thunder in Game 2, the games have come down to the wire, including overtime in Game 3. Oklahoma City returns home on Tuesday night with the series tied at 2.

Nuggets vs. Thunder Game 5 Prediction
Aaron Gordon has elevated his play in the postseason, especially against the Thunder. He has been more active on the boards and as a playmaker. The Thunder are making life difficult for Nikola Jokic with extra attention. Jokic is shooting 39.1% from the field and 21.4% from three.
Michael Porter Jr. is playing through a left shoulder AC joint injury and has trouble lifting his arm over his head and has scored eight points or fewer in three of the four games. In addition, the Thunder have allowed the most rebounds in the playoffs and it has helped Gordon.
Outside of the Thunder’s 149-106 win in Game 2 when Gordon was limited to 27 minutes, Gordon has gone over the 10.5 rebounds+assist line easily. He has played 39, 46 and 38 minutes in the other games. In Game 1, Gordon had 14 rebounds and one assist. In Game 3, Gordon had eight rebounds and five assists and had 16 rebounds and six assists on Sunday.
The Nuggets forward is averaging 10.8 rebounds and 3.3 assists in the series with 15 rebounding chances and 8.5 potential assists per game. If he converts only half of these averages, he goes over the prop. Gordon is being asked to do a lot more and he’s more aggressive, especially on the offensive boards with games of seven, five and seven offensive rebounds. Jokic had zero offensive rebounds in Game 4.
In four games this season against the Thunder in which Gordon has played at least 33 minutes, he has gone over each time. He is averaging 16.5 rebound chances in those games. For Denver to stay competitive and have a chance to win, Gordon will need to be active again.
