5 minCeltics vs. Knicks Prediction: Can Payton Pritchard, Celtics Stay Alive in Game 6 at MSG?
The season-ending injury to Jayson Tatum didn’t deter the Celtics from getting back in the series. After Tatum tore his Achilles tendon in the final moments of Game 4, Boston returned home facing elimination and defeated the Knicks, 127-102. The Celtics shot 22-for-49 from three-point range, led by Derrick White with 34 points, including 7 of 13 from three.
Jaylen Brown had 26 points, 12 assists and eight rebounds and Payton Pritchard scored 17 off the bench. Jalen Brunson scored 22 for the Knicks and fouled out with 7:19 left in the game. The Knicks look to close out the series and go to the Eastern Conference finals for the first time since 2000 with a win at Madison Square Garden on Friday night in Game 6. The Knicks are 3-0 following a loss in the postseason.

Celtics vs. Knicks Game 4 Prediction
Several players from Boston get a boost and take more shots without Jayson Tatum and Payton Pritchard is one of them. In Game 5, Pritchard came off the bench, but played 39 minutes. Pritchard tied Jaylen Brown for the team lead with 17 shots from the field. Pritchard has a 21% usage rate with Tatum off the floor.
While Pritchard wasn’t efficient in the last game, he takes most of his shots from three. The Celtics guard shot 6-for-17 from the field, including 5 of 14 from three-point range and scored 17 points. He had three assists on eight potential assists and was second on the team in passes made.
When Pritchard is on the floor, he’s very aggressive and quick to hoist up shots. He has taken 89 shots from the field in 274 postseason minutes. In the last 20 games without Tatum, Pritchard is averaging 19.8 points and 5.8 assists.
Pritchard was able to cash the points+assists prop in Game 5 despite poor efficiency. Pritchard has been a matchup problem for the Knicks and is averaging 14.8 points and 1.4 assists in 28 minutes in the series. Kristaps Porzingis isn’t healthy and only played 12 minutes in the last game. The Celtics need the playmaking ability and strong shooting of Pritchard to have a chance to force a Game 7 in Boston on Monday.
