Knicks vs. Pacers Game 6 Prediction
The Pacers have no answers for Karl-Anthony Towns. The Knicks center has put up big numbers against Indiana in his career and the series. Towns has averaged 27.8 points and 11.1 rebounds in 18 career games. In this series, Towns is averaging 25.4 points and 11.8 rebounds. The numbers could be better if he wasn’t benched for a portion of Game 2 when he had 20 points and seven rebounds in 28 minutes.
The only thing that can stop Towns is foul trouble. He has at least four fouls in four of the five games, and is still averaging 34.6 minutes per game. He played 36 and 37 minutes the last two games and with the Knicks facing elimination, the minutes could increase.
Towns is having his way in the paint. He’s driving more to the basket and passing on the three-point shot the last two games. After taking 20 three-pointers in the first three games, Towns has taken only six threes the last two games and realizes he’s better off going downhill against an under-sized Pacers team.
He has scored at least 24 points in four games, and has at least 12 rebounds in four. Towns has gone over the 33.5 points + rebounds line in four games. Towns is shooting 51.8% from the field and 42.3% from beyond the arc. He is averaging 16.6 shots from the field and took 20 in Game 5. He is averaging 7.4 free throws and 20 rebound chances per game.
The tandem of Towns and Jalen Brunson is key for the Knicks' offense. They are the first pair of teammates to score 20+ points in each of the first five games of a conference finals since Shaquille O'Neal and Kobe Bryant did it in 2002.
