He also draws a fantastic matchup tonight against the Milwaukee Bucks, who rank among the most generous defenses in the league to opposing small forwards — 4th most points, 6th most rebounds, and 12th most assists allowed. With Charlotte’s offense condensed and Kon in rhythm, this number continues to look too low for the role he’s playing.

With Ausar Thompson out of the lineup, Cade Cunningham steps up as a more active rebounder, and the stats back it up in a big way. In his last 20 games without Ausar, Cade has cleared this number every single time, averaging a strong 7.8 rebounds per game.
He’s also covered this in his previous matchup against Chicago under the same conditions, pulling down 6 rebounds last season. The Bulls remain vulnerable on the boards, ranking in the bottom half of the NBA in rebounds allowed to opposing point guards.
