3 Minute ReadSpurs vs. Thunder Best Bet: Targeting Point Props in Game 7 of the Western Conference Finals Tonight
The Western Conference Finals come down to one game tonight as the Spurs and Thunder battle in Game 7, and my favorite play on the board is the under. Game 7s are simply different.
The pace slows down. Possessions become more valuable. Every missed shot feels magnified, and every defensive stop feels like a momentum swing. Coaches shorten rotations, players tighten up, and the intensity ramps up to a level that regular season basketball simply can’t replicate.

Spurs vs. Thunder Game 7 Prediction
When I handicap a Game 7, I almost always start by looking at the under, and this matchup checks every box. We’re talking about two elite defensive teams that have already spent six games learning every tendency, every action, and every counter the other side wants to run. There are no surprises left in the playbook.
The historical trends are impossible to ignore as well. Over the last two decades, Game 7s after the first round have gone 26-12 to the under, cashing at a 68% clip. Even more impressive, conference finals and NBA Finals Game 7s have gone 12-1 to the under, finishing nearly 15 points below the closing total on average. When top-three seeds meet in a Game 7, the trend becomes even stronger. Those games have gone 17-2 to the under over the last 20 years, averaging fewer than 188 total points per game. The matchup itself also points toward a defensive battle.
San Antonio is coming off an emotional Game 6 victory where Victor Wembanyama delivered one of the biggest performances of his young career. The Spurs fought for every loose ball, every rebound, and every possession just to extend the series. Now they have to turn around and play their seventh high-pressure game in two weeks against the defending conference champions on the road. Fatigue becomes a real factor in these spots, especially for a younger Spurs roster that isn’t accustomed to this type of playoff workload.
On the other side, Oklahoma City is in a classic bounce-back situation. The Thunder have been one of the best response teams in basketball over the last two seasons. After losses, they typically come out locked in defensively and far more disciplined. That’s especially true at home, where they rarely allow opponents to dictate tempo. I expect Shai Gilgeous-Alexander and company to make life miserable for San Antonio from the opening tip. The Thunder know they don’t need to win a track meet tonight. They simply need to execute, defend, and avoid mistakes.
That mentality usually creates exactly the type of game under bettors want. I wouldn’t be surprised if both teams come out tight early, feeling the pressure of the moment. The first quarter should be played at a playoff pace, and if this game follows the typical Game 7 script, every possession will become increasingly deliberate as the night progresses.

With two elite defenses, tired legs, championship pressure, and decades of Game 7 history supporting the angle, I think points are at a premium tonight.
